Cley Village Hall facilities

The Main Hall

The main hall can accommodate up to 150 people seated theatre style facing the raised performance stage complete with curtains. There is a large drop down screen, built in projector, and PA system that can be used for talks and presentations.

High speed WiFi is available for Hall users.

Several local groups including the The Arts Society Glaven Valley (TASGV), the Women’s Institute, Blakeney Area Historical Society, Cley Bird Club and the Norfolk Wildlife Trust make regular use of the super facilities of the hall. The Hall’s notice boards, newsletter, and social media can be used to promote public events.

There is also a hearing loop in the main hall.

The main hall can also be used as a dance venue with its high quality wooden floor. Up to 96 people can be seated at tables for a hog roast or harvest supper. There are 17 large tables (183 x 61 cm) and 20 square tables (69 x 69 cm) that can be arranged according to the event.

Adjacent to the main hall, with direct access through a large serving hatch, is a modern kitchen with ample space for food preparation, two modern hob/ovens, fridge/freezer, large urn, crockery etc for 90 people, and a brand new commercial dishwasher.

A ramp is available for wheelchair users.

Toilets (including a disabled toilet) are available just off the main entrance doors.

Just outside the front entrance is a publicly accessible heart defibrillator, just in case.

The Club Room

You’d like a more intimate meeting space? Our Club Room could be perfect for you. With its own separate entrance (although it can connect with the Main Hall should you wish) the Club Room has tables and chairs and can accommodate 36 people in comfort.

The Club Room is where our bar is. The bar has a full licence for the sale of alcohol and arrangements can be made for its use. Please ask when booking.

There are fridges and a freezer and a small kitchen.

The Hall’s high speed WiFi can be accessed from the Club Room.

A ramp is available for wheelchair users.

The Club Room has its own toilets (separate to those for the main hall).

Car Parking

Cley Village Hall has a large free car park, with space for around 80 cars.

Car parking

CleyIt’s gravel-based but has flat, easy access to either the Main Hall or the Clubroom; this includes spaces for up to 3 disabled badge holders adjacent to the Club Room entrance.

If you’re visiting Cley village then please use this car park – it is a short, well signposted (and interesting) walk into the village centre where you will almost certainly need an ice cream from Picnic Fayre and perhaps some smoked fish from the Smokehouse, a piece of art from Pinkfoot Gallery, some pottery from Made in Cley or a book from the Crabpot Bookshop.

For refreshments there’s  The HarnserThe George Hotel and The Three Swallows pubs. Accommodation at The George, The Three Swallows, The Harnser or Cley Windmill.

Children’s play area and sports field

Sited behind the Club Room area of the car park you will find a safe play area for young children. This is set out as an adventure playground and is free to use during the hours of daylight. We do ask that young children are accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Play Area

In addition, there is a grassed ‘five-a-side’ pitch with two sets of goals.

Again, with young children, we ask that they are supervised by an adult.

Sports field

At Cley Village Hall we care not only for our visitors but our environment too. At the edge of the car park there are containers for recycling glass and for clothes/shoes.

After your event we’d love you to put all empty glass containers into the recycling bin.
